Autocars de Polder use XBEE technology to reduce CO2 emission

Autocars De Polder and Autobus De Polder together add up to a fleet of 180 vehicles, all well-known bus manufacturers such as Mercedes, Setra, Irizar, Bova, Van Hool, etc. Most of the cars of Coaches De Polder meet the three-star rating of the Belgian Bus Federation, the FBAA.

Buses purchased since 2007 are fully EURO 4 compliant in terms of exhaust gases, and ten buses are already EURO 5 compliant with or without the use of Ad-Blue.

Mr. Jacques de Vriese, the technical director of the company De Polder branch of Veolia Transport Belgium, heard about the XBEE Enzyme Fuel Technology since June 2008. Weeks later, Mr. de Vriese had to face several mechanical problems such as damaged injection pumps and technical problems such as bacterial growth in the main fuel storage tank.

He finally got convinced to use the XBEE Enzyme Fuel Technology by these accumulated difficulties.

XBEE is already well known for its ability to eliminate biomass in fuels and to actually improve engine maintenance during operation. But more than that, a regular use of XBEE helped the 200 vehicles in Polder’s fleet to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions by 518 tons per year.

This endeavour in favour of the environment is in keeping with the sustainable development that is essential in a city as important as Antwerp. After testing XBEE technology to improve fuel efficiency, it was clear. XBEE is not only easier on the vehicle’s engine, but also contributes to lower exhaust emissions.
